As a civil engineering major, I had very little exposure to the construction industry before my internship at SC Builders. Over the course of three months, however, I gained valuable knowledge through hands-on experience and guidance rather than simply being told what to do. I had the opportunity to work with subcontractors, architects, owners, and inspectors while being on site every day, walking the project and learning directly from field personnel. Instead of being limited to miscellaneous side tasks, I was encouraged to take on meaningful responsibilities and explore as many opportunities as possible, with my own knowledge being the only real limitation. Overall, I’m extremely grateful for the opportunity and for the team that supported and encouraged me to learn and grow throughout the experience.”
